Submission Guide
Submission Guide
How to add a London charity, cause, or community organisation to Community Map
What can be submitted?
Users can submit:
- Registered charities
- Community Interest Companies
- Social enterprises
- Local community groups
- Faith based community groups
- Volunteer organisations
- Mutual aid groups
- Non profit organisations
The organisation should serve people or communities in London.
What should not be submitted?
Do not submit:
- Private individuals
- Commercial businesses with no community purpose
- Political candidates or party campaign pages
- Organisations with no clear London connection
- Duplicate listings already on Community Map
- Anything misleading, abusive, or inappropriate
What happens after I submit?
- The submission goes to the Community Map team.
- The team checks whether the organisation appears real and active.
- The team checks for duplicates.
- The team may request more information.
- If approved, the organisation is added to the map.
- If rejected, the submitter is notified.
What does "Registered Charity" mean?
The Registered Charity badge is shown only when the Community Map team confirms a valid charity registration number.
What if the organisation is not a registered charity?
That is fine. Community Map can include community groups, CICs, social enterprises, and other genuine local organisations. They just will not receive the Registered Charity badge unless they have a confirmed charity registration number.
Can I update an organisation later?
Yes. Each organisation profile has a "Request an Update" button. Suggested changes are reviewed by the Community Map team before going live.
