About
John Lyon's Charity is a grant-making organisation that supports children and young people up to the age of 25, or up to 30 for those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. It serves nine boroughs in North and West London: Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea, and the Cities of London and Westminster. The charity's mission is to promote the life chances of children and young people through education, which it interprets broadly. Since 1991, it has distributed over £236 million in grants to organisations providing opportunities such as youth clubs, arts projects, emotional wellbeing initiatives, supplementary schools, parental support schemes, sports programmes, and academic bursaries. Around £15 million in grants are distributed annually.
